Bio:
Amy Willis is a self-taught artist and experimental musician; an Idaho Native, currently residing in Astoria, Oregon.
She was raised in creative household consisting of musicians, singers, educators, artists, fabulous cooks, gardeners and an interior decorating mother who also made leaded glass windows.
Her early work usually consisted of oil paintings of photos taken from National Geographic or painted wooden chairs.
Through the years she's explored working with oil paint, leaded glass, found objects, acrylics, fabric art, bead work, ink, oil pastels, recycling cardboard as canvas and many other forms of media.
Through this process she's found a deep connection with becoming a mixed media artist.
Exploring texture and emotion through the process of layering media has become a niche where Amy finds herself challenged, moved and excited artistically.
Amy's artistic career includes several shows in Idaho and Oregon, personal commissions, and donations to the yearly Valentine's for AIDS benefit in Boise, Idaho.
